Location of role Box Hill Hospital Organisation’s profile Box Hill Hospital is part of the Eastern Health group and is a large acute hospital admitting more than 48,000 patients each year. The hospital provides a wide range of healthcare services including: emergency care, general and specialist medicine, intensive care, mental health services for children, adolescents and adults, maternity services, post-acute care programs, surgery, teaching and research. Volunteer duties Possible roles for volunteers include: * Auxiliary – assist with fundraising events to purchase urgently needed medical equipment * EDcare – assisting patients and families while in the emergency departments * Kiosk – preparing or serving food to help raise funds directly for the hospital * Patient mobile shop –providing items for purchase to patients on the wards * Patient activities – help with group activities. Volunteer skills/qualities No formal qualifications are required. Times and days These vary according to the volunteering position. Training and support provided On the job training will be provided More information The Hospital now recruits its volunteers twice yearly, other than kiosk volunteers, who are also recruited during the year.
