Location of role The office is located at Suite 9A, Centro Box Hill North, 17 Market Street, Box Hill VIC 3128 but individual arrangements for appointments will be in the Manningham or Box Hill regions. About the agency The Chinese Community Social Services Centre Inc. is an ethno-specific organisation providing community support services to aged, children, young people and families within the Chinese community in Victoria. It is the largest government-funded, non-profit welfare service provider for the Chinese-Australian community in Victoria. The Centre delivers services to the Chinese community through:- - funded Community Settlement Services programs - funded Home and Community Care programs - funded Community Aged Care Packages services - specific short-term projects - recruitment and training of volunteers and - on-going consultation and review with professionals from external organisation. Volunteer duties Chinese Community Social Services concentrates on those with reduced mobility. Drivers will take elderly people to appointments. Volunteer skills and qualities Must be able to speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin as aged persons tend to forget languages acquired later in life and revert to their mother tongue. Must have a registered and insured vehicle and a current Victorian Driver's licence.
