Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation. Austin Health comprises Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. During 2008-09, its 6,402 staff treated a record 89,668 inpatients and 155,538 outpatients. Volunteer duties A wide variety of positions are available, including * Speech Pathology Support * Activities Assistant at Nursing Home * Ward Support * Weekend Activity Assistant * Dinner Assistant * Newspaper Round Assistant * Volunteer Driver for Planned Activity Group (PAG) * Assistant for Men's Friday Woodwork PAG * Movie Group Organiser * Gym Assistant * Physiotherapy Support * Breakfast Group * Beauty Therapy Support (Please note that this list is not current. Minimum commitment period Recruitment process All volunteers are required to attend an interview, provide two references and undergo a police check. The successful applicant will then be required to attend the next available corporate induction and training session.
