At Biala you'll spend an enjoyable and rewarding morning with a friendly team in a pleasant and professional atmosphere. At each session, you'll spend time with one child and support them through their specially designed play activities. Vacancy period Ongoing Location of position 10 Rose Street, Box Hill 3128 Agency profile Biala is a family centred early childhood intervention centre for families who have a child with developmental delays or a disability. Volunteer duties Under the direction and supervision of the teachers and therapy staff, facilitate the children’s learning during play activities. You'll work one child individually at a time, and over time will work with many of the children at Biala. Volunteer skills/qualities • An understanding of normal child development • Physically able. Some lifting of children on and off change table is required. The volunteer will sit on the floor along with a child for many of the activities. Preference will be given to someone who's had experience in parenting a young child. Position reports to Teachers and therapy staff on duty Age range 25-65 years Times and days Wednesday morning 9.15 am – 12.30 pm Minimum commitment period Six months Recruitment process 1.
