What's on offer
Established in 1980, Court Network is a unique, voluntary, non-legal, court support service operating throughout Victoria. Information, support and referral services are provided by approximately 300 trained volunteers supporting people accused of crime, families who have become secondary victims of crime, adults and children who have been violated or exploited by crime, and litigants who have little or no support.

Training and support provided
There are many people who express interest in becoming a Court Network volunteer. Successful Court Network volunteers are provided with extensive training as part of their induction into becoming a Networker.

Initial training is conducted one or two times a year, depending on court demand levels. There are several stages in the training process:

* an information session explaining the Networker role in court
* a selection session, which is something like an interview.

If we believe your skills and interests are a good match for the needs of the courts, we will offer you a place at the training session. Initial training runs for ten weeks, one day a week.

To ensure Networkers' skills remain up to date and enable them to deal with changes to policy and improvement in the court environment, regular training is held. These monthly professional development sessions attract leading legal, paralegal and social justice speakers. Find out more about the Networkers' 2010 continual education process

More information
To express your interest in becoming a Networker, please send the Court Network an e-mail and they will place you on their waiting list.
