| Posted: Website: http://www.redcross.org.au/vic/ Vacancy number VV10020 Name of volunteer position Emergency/disaster volunteer Agency type Emergency services Volunteering activities type Emergency/safety/rescue What's on offer Under the City of Manningham's Emergency Management Plan, the Red Cross is responsible for coordinating volunteers to help with disaster and emergency assistance, such as bushfire relief. Volunteer duties Further afield, in accordance with the Victorian Emergency Management Arrangements, Australian Red Cross Victoria has a number of responsibilities for supporting people where emergencies occur. These include emergency catering, emergency first aid, personal support, single incident emergency assistance and the National Registration and Inquiry System. This multi-skilled role is carried out in accordance with Australian Red Cross Victoria emergency service responsibilities and relates to the handling of inquiries and registration of evacuees; providing personal support to emergency affected people; providing emergency catering to emergency services personnel and emergency affected people and providing support in the Emergency Operations Centre during emergencies. Training and support provided The members of the Red Cross Emergency Services Redi Support Teams receive regular training throughout the year so they can provide the best service possible without delay when called upon.
