About the agency The Box Hill Citizens Advice Bureau provides free information, referrals and/or material/financial to residents. Voluntary trained workers interview clients to provide information, referrals and support.
The Bureau is linked with Community Infomation Victoria Inc.(CIVic)
Volunteers Volunteer Community Support Workers (CIWs) interview clients in a confidential and respectful environment and provide information, referrals, support and/or material/financial assistance.
A volunteer who interviews members of the public must complete the CIVic endorsed training program. There is a five-stage Training Program, as follows:
* Stage One - Selection
* Stage Two - Agency Orientation
* Stage Three - CHCCS416A 50-hour training (Assess and Provide Services to Clients with Complex Needs)
* Stage Four - Probationary Period
* Stage Five - Ongoing Training
