In addition to direct legal services, ECLC also undertakes Community Development activities that empower clients, workers and the general community, raise awareness and provide education through projects and partnerships, workshops, media, events and publications. ECLC has a small staff team and over 100 volunteers. ECLC is located in the Eastern region of Melbourne and serves the Cities of Whitehorse, Boroondara, Manningham, Maroondah, Knox and the Shire of Yarra Ranges. Volunteers Assist with reception work, information and referrals, including some administrative duties. Most vacancies are limited to legal practictioners and law students. The position requires attendance at initial training offered by ECLC for all paralegal volunteers and on the job training. Supplement training will be offered as required. Time commitment - one half day each week - either 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm. ECLC expects a minimum commitment of six months to any volunteer position with the hope of building an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship with all volunteers Good computer skills are required.
