This is achieved through finding and supporting individuals (advocates) from the local community, who are prepared to act voluntarily to make a positive difference to the life of a person with the disability who may be isolated, face difficult challenges, or be at risk. Volunteers Volunteers from the local community are required to build MEDA relationships with people with intellectual disabilities in Monash, Whitehorse, Boroondarra, Manningham and Maroondah. MEDA are also seeking volunteers for 2011-2012 for the Committee of Management.
