About the Agency Able Australia's mission is to create a community where people with multiple disabilities, including deafblindness,are seen, heard, respected, valued and connected.
Volunteers Opportunities for volunteering are listed on Able Australia's website. They include being a companion for a deaf-blind person, and helping with the Able recreation program and community access activities. Many of Able Australia's clients communicate through Australian sign language, called Auslan, and volunteers have the opportunity to learn how to communicate in this language.
