They include being a companion for a deaf-blind person, and helping with the Able recreation program and community access activities. Here are the types of volunteers' roles: Companionship volunteering, Disability support volunteer, Deafblind recreation program volunteers, Office support, Events Many of Able Australia's clients communicate through Australian sign language, called Auslan, and volunteers have the opportunity to learn how to communicate in this language.
