About the agency The YMCA is a community based charity that delivers programs and services to help build strong people, strong families and strong communities from over 500 YMCA centres across Australia.
Manningham YMCA Youth Services are funded by Manningham City Council to provide a generalist youth service for young people aged 12 - 25 years who live, study, play or work in the city of Manningham. There's a wide range of services and programs including information and referral, early intervention services and programs, participation and leadership, disability services, community development and policy development
Volunteers Youth Services rely strongly on the generous time and support of Volunteers to help us run our events and programs. We run a series of youth focused events throughout the year, including the TwYlight Disability Disco's and the FReeZA program, which hosts live music events such as Battle of The Bands. We regularly seek the support and assistance of Volunteers on event nights to help with tasks such as crowd supervision, kiosk, committee support (buddy system for committee members and their tasks), entry/check in and staff support.
This is an ideal agency for young people to volunteer with, as they'll learn new skills and have a great time with a crowd of young people.
All volunteer & student placement applicants must be over 18 years of age, may be required to attend an interview, and must complete a Working with Children Check and a Police Check prior to commencement. Orientation and induction are provided.
