Recruitment, training and support is provided by Government agencies; for Manningham, this is MS Australia. Volunteers Community Visitors provide companionship to socially or culturally isolated nursing home residents. Visits are at least once a fortnight and may include listening to music, chatting and reminiscing, watching television or going for walks or outings (depending on the health of the resident).
